Unicef campaign for refugee family reunion – looking for families to tell their stories.
Written by Melanie Teff – Unicef
Unicef is the world’s leading organisation for children, promoting the rights and wellbeing of every child. Together with our partners, we work in 190 countries and territories. Unicef UK raises funds to protect children in danger, transform their lives and build a safer world for tomorrow’s children. It also campaigns for children’s rights, and Unicef UK is involved in a campaign to defend the importance of refugee family reunion. We are advocating for an improvement in the UK’s Immigration Rules on refugee family reunion to enable more children to be reunited with their families in the UK.
We are keen to identify some families who would be willing to tell their stories:
1. Refugee families who have been reunited in the UK through an official
2. UK family members who are worried about a child in their family and have wanted to sponsor the child to come to the UK but have been unable to do so we will fully respect the wishes of any family willing to speak with us about any information that they provide. We will not use names or photos if the family prefers this. If families are willing to tell their stories, they will be making a huge contribution to the community by helping us to campaign for the rights of refugee children to reach the safety of their families.
