On Saturday afternoon, as some of you may be aware, we held a Community Fun Day for our beneficiaries, their families and other locals to come and learn about our projects, what the ACAA does and what we stand for.
We had a range of children’s activities, ranging from friendship bracelets to face painting. We also hosted a local singer who came and performed a few songs and had a couple of local poets come and treat us to some of their own poems. In addition to this, we were treated to some astonishing Persian dancing by Ziba Tabrizi, to which some of us couldn’t resist and joined in. Moreover, we were very lucky to have Keramat Fathinia, a PHD student at SOAS, come and teach us about Islamic Calligraphy. Overall the event was a huge success, with ample amounts of food sourced from local businesses: The New Cross House, Tesco and Fareshare.
We would like to say a massive thank you to all the volunteers, beneficiaries and their families who attended our Community Fun Day, we couldn’t have done it without you. Also, thanks must also go out to Ziba Tabrizi and her incredible Persian dancing and Keramat Fathinia with his amazing Islamic Calligraphy. Also thank you to The New Cross House, Tesco and Fareshare who donated their delicious food.
