A Vibrant Eid Celebration at Ferdowsi Hall at Afghanistan and Central Asian Association
Eid is a time for joy, unity, and celebration, and this year’s Eid function at Ferdowsi Hall on March 30th was nothing short of spectacular. The day began with a beautiful prayer ceremony, bringing together men, women, and children from different ethnicities, all united in the spirit of Eid. As the clock struck 11 am, the hall filled with an aura of peace and harmony, setting the tone for a festive day ahead. Dr Nasimi MBE himself took part in the same along with his family and ACAA staff members too. People were all backgrounds were invited and there was a sense of unity to it.
Following the prayers, the event transformed into a lively celebration, with an array of colorful stalls offering everything from traditional clothing and intricate jewellery to the finest saffron from Herat. The smell of freshly prepared Kabuli pulao wafted through the air, and the sweet scent of sheerchai filled the hall, reminding everyone of the rich culinary heritage shared among the guests. Every item was homemade, adding a personal touch to the festivities.
The energy was electric, with music and dancing lighting up the event, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. The kids were delighted by the ice cream van and the bouncy air-blown toys, their laughter and excitement echoing throughout the hall. It was heartwarming to witness such an inclusive and joyful celebration, where people from all walks of life came together to share in the happiness of Eid. Truly, it was a day to remember, filled with vibrant colors, laughter, and a sense of community that made Eid extra special this year.
