On Monday, the 24th of July, ACAA hosted its partner organisation the Money Charity to lead a workshop titled “Introduction to the UK Financial System and Banking” at its centre in Feltham. Topics included the difference between a debit and credit card, documents needed to open a bank account and managing personal finances. Conducted in English, volunteers interpreted in Farsi and Spanish to make it more accessible. Structured specifically for refugees and asylum seekers, participants commented that they feel much more confident about engaging with money in this country. We thank the Money Charity for this informative workshop.
