Abresham FC players are Ball Kids at the Women’s EUROs!

18 July 2022

Last week, two members of our football club got the opportunity to be VISA Ball Kids for the Women’s EUROs.

Farzana and Yaser (far left in both rows) and their parents were taken on a day trip to London, where they had workshops and training sessions to learn how to be Ball Kids during the match. At 8pm, Germany vs Spain kicked off at Brentford Community Stadium and they were positioned around the pitch to collect the ball when it went out of play!

They received full kit, merchandise and food and drinks the entire day, and they absolutely loved it! Yaser says he is “so happy and enjoyed every single moment” of the day.

Farzana fled Afghanistan following the takeover of the Taliban last year, and arrived in the UK a few months ago. She has become a key member of Abresham FC, not only on the football pitch but also in interviews and days like this. The football club has given her a chance to follow her dream of playing football, and she has become an asset to our squad.

Thank you to everyone who made this opportunity possible!
