Zhala moved to the UK from New City, Afghanistan in 2007. She studied Persian language at Kabul University and worked as both a teacher and a women’s rights activist in Afghanistan. Having moved to the UK, she has continued her work in women’s rights and speaks regularly on women’s rights, and the history and culture of Afghanistan at public events and conferences. She also enjoys reading and writing poetry and aspires to be a professional poet. Zhala currently volunteers for the ACAA as a Women’s Project Officer.
